Open Positions at Academy of Mount St. Ursula

The Academy of Mount St. Ursula  (an all girl Catholic high school conducted in the Ursuline tradition located in the Bronx has a few job openings starting August/September 1, 2020 for the academic year of 2020-2021.  We are seeking creative and dedicated individuals wanting to make a difference in the lives of our 325 diverse young women!

1) Assistant Principal of Academics and Discipline-person will be responsible for working with academic department chairpersons to oversee the academic affairs of the school, keeping all abreast of NYS and NYC regulations, Board of Regents requirements for NYS Regents exams, working with student database of Blackbaud  and Lower Hudson Regional Information System for grade reporting,  supervising teachers for classroom observations and handling  of student discipline.    The assistant principal should be able to work collaboratively with the principal , main office staff,  teachers, department chairpersons, coaches, maintenance, development, student affairs,  admissions and  finance offices.  He/she will communicate often with current parents.  The prospective applicant should be familiar with Google Classrooms and Meets, Microsoft Office and social media.

Applicant should have experience teaching on the middle school or high school level or in school administration.  Preference would be that the person has a Masters in Education or School Administration and either has certification in education or administration or is working towards certification.  Spanish speaking, writing and/or reading would be a plus.

2)  Mathematics Teacher – Person needs to be familiar with common core curriculum in Algebra, Geometry,  Algebra II , and Pre-Calculus   A certified mathematics teacher or working toward certification is desired, Student teaching/previous teaching experience preferred.
